All About My Tattoos

I've been meaning to make this post for a while now, I want to be able to share my tattoos and experience getting them with anyone who may be interested. I know tattoos aren't every bodies cup of tea, but there is no room on this blog for negativity so if you are against it in anyway now is your chance to leave :) Without anymore rambling, lets get into it!

My very first tattoo was actually lyrics on my wrist which I got when I was 17. The script wasn't perfect so I began having laser tattoo removal to fade it so that I can have it touched up. At the moment it's one more session away from being touched up, which is why I didn't think I would include it in this post as its quite faded. The day before my 18th birthday I got Ariel from The Little Mermaid tattooed on my right foot. If you know me you know that I kind of have a disney obsession, and I absolutely love foot tattoos. The whole tattoo took 6 hours (the artist was quite slow) and it was excruciatingly painful, I burst out crying 3 hours In. Despite the pain I was back 6 months later for the other foot…

Princess Jasmine from Aladdin was my choice for my left foot. Although this time I decided to have it done in two sessions. It was just as painful, took about 2 and a half hours anddddd I still haven't been back to finish it! One day when Im willing to face the pain I'll have it completed, for now I think its beautiful regardless of not being coloured in.

It was a good year and a half before I got tattooed again, a few days after my 20th birthday I spent my birthday money on a beautiful deer on my shin. I love neotrad tattoos and this was the beginning of having my legs slowly covered. This wasn't as painful compared to my feet, but definitely got worse the longer it went on. It took two sessions and I'm probably due for a touch up soon.

And last but not least, a month ago while holidaying in Broadbeach I got this tiger on my ankle. This took about 4 hours and had lots of intricate lines to complete. Towards the end it was very painful, as the artist had to re work some lines. None of my tattoos have itched much while healing, except this one! This tattoo woke me up in the middle of the night twice it was that itchy, I just had to bare through it and pat it but to be quite honest it was torture.

Heres a full shot of me for some perspective, before the tiger on my left ankle was added. For me tattoos are a way of expressing myself, I think that they are a beautiful form of artwork and I honestly can't wait to add more. If you would like to know anything more in depth, such as laser tattoo removal or aftercare, feel free to leave a comment. And let me know, do you have any tattoos?

  1. Beautiful tattoos :) despite not being finished I love the Jasmine one! I have 4 seperate ones. I have "keep smiling " on my left back shoulder blade. "Sugar and spice, fire and ice" vertically down my upper spine, 3 rosebuds in a vine with leaves snaking from my left front bikini line around my side and onto my left lower back ribs, and my right hip has a sting ray with a black tipped reef shark swimming above it. All of them are black and grey, and anything over my ribs hurt like hell! The rosebuds took 2 sessions and about 8 hrs all up to complete, and the sting ray and shark were done in 1, 5hr sitting!

  2. Thanks for sharing your tattoos, Monique. I love how they compliment individual personality. I only have the one that's on my right shoulder. It's the same as the tiger cub in this gallery http://www.angelsbodystudioltd.co.uk/Tattoo-Gallery-Pics-6.php

  4. I love it! I love that your tatts are not the usual boring ones that you can see everywhere! I don't have any yet but I always fancied myself getting a fire tattoo from my inner left wrist up to a portion of my palm! It sounds crazy and I have been told it will hurt like hell since I have very small wrist but no pain no gain! :p
